“Starting at sixth form in a brand-new school was very daunting, but I’ve enjoyed every moment since arriving. Teachers and staff have been very welcoming and positive ensuring I had a smooth transition, answering any questions I had and including me in the lessons.

My peers were very welcoming, helping to get settled and including me in activities. Overall PCHS has made my stressful and scary transition a positive experience.”

Prudhoe Community High School Receives Positive Good Ofsted Report

22nd January 2024Jump Marketing

We have recently undergone an Ofsted inspection, resulting in a reaffirmation of our status as a “good” school. The report, conducted in December 2023, emphasises the school’s commitment to inclusive education and comprehensive personal development initiatives.

Inclusive Community and Positive Culture

The Ofsted report commends us for welcoming all pupils and fostering strong relationships with parents and carers. Noted in the report, the positive culture within the school is evident, pupils feel respected and also reflect as a positive role model for younger students.

The Ofsted report also notices our commitment to setting high expectations, as reflected in the ambitious curriculum, covering key stages 4 and 5, providing clear routes into higher education and apprenticeships. The inspection noted that pupils show positive attitudes towards learning, achieving well in a calm and orderly environment.

The inspection also noted the numerous opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and gain new experiences whilst at school. Showcasing educational visits, clubs and activities as a strong sense of community and something that pupils look forward to.

Effective Safeguarding and Personal Development

The report commends our safeguarding arrangements, emphasising its commitment to pupils’ personal development. The comprehensive personal development programme at Prudhoe Community High School spans from Year 9 to Year 13, covering crucial topics such as relationships, equality, diversity, physical and mental health, and online safety.

Alongside this, Prudhoe was recognised in the Ofsted report for its commitment to providing career guidance. The report states that the career guidance stands out as a strength of the school.

Headteacher Annmarie Moore expressed her satisfaction with the report, stating, “The inspection report highlights all of the great work that goes on in school and our students represented our school beautifully throughout the inspection period. We feel that the report captures everything about our school well, and it is lovely to see that the inspection team recognised lots of positive aspects of our school.”

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Prudhoe Community High School remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that it provides an outstanding education for its students. The positive outcome of the inspection reflects the dedication of the entire school community and sets a solid foundation for future growth and success.

In response to the report, Annmarie Moore highlighted the collaborative effort that contributes to the school’s success, stating, “It is not possible to achieve such a positive outcome without the many parts that make up our wonderful school community, including our committed staff, our students, and our parents and carers.”
