āMoving and starting in a new 6th form without previously attending the school, was a nerve racking experience, however I couldn’t have felt more welcome. The teachers were kind and thoughtful, making sure I felt settled and ensuring that I was given any help I may have needed both in and outside of the classroom. My peers were welcoming and polite, and helped to create a very nice environment to work in during my free time. This has made my time at 6th form very enjoyable and productive, and has helped prepare me for higher educationā.Ā

We have recently undergone an Ofsted inspection, resulting in a reaffirmation of our status as a āgoodā school. The report, conducted in December 2023, emphasises the school’s commitment to inclusive education and comprehensive personal development initiatives.
Inclusive Community and Positive Culture
The Ofsted report commends us for welcoming all pupils and fostering strong relationships with parents and carers. Noted in the report, the positive culture within the school is evident, pupils feel respected and also reflect as a positive role model for younger students.Ā
The Ofsted report also notices our commitment to setting high expectations, as reflected in the ambitious curriculum, covering key stages 4 and 5, providing clear routes into higher education and apprenticeships. The inspection noted that pupils show positive attitudes towards learning, achieving well in a calm and orderly environment.
The inspection also noted the numerous opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and gain new experiences whilst at school. Showcasing educational visits, clubs and activities as a strong sense of community and something that pupils look forward to.Ā
Effective Safeguarding and Personal Development
The report commends our safeguarding arrangements, emphasising its commitment to pupils’ personal development. The comprehensive personal development programme at Prudhoe Community High School spans from Year 9 to Year 13, covering crucial topics such as relationships, equality, diversity, physical and mental health, and online safety.Ā
Alongside this, Prudhoe was recognised in the Ofsted report for its commitment to providing career guidance. The report states that the career guidance stands out as a strength of the school.
Headteacher Annmarie Moore expressed her satisfaction with the report, stating, “The inspection report highlights all of the great work that goes on in school and our students represented our school beautifully throughout the inspection period. We feel that the report captures everything about our school well, and it is lovely to see that the inspection team recognised lots of positive aspects of our school.”
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Prudhoe Community High School remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that it provides an outstanding education for its students. The positive outcome of the inspection reflects the dedication of the entire school community and sets a solid foundation for future growth and success.
In response to the report, Annmarie Moore highlighted the collaborative effort that contributes to the school’s success, stating, “It is not possible to achieve such a positive outcome without the many parts that make up our wonderful school community, including our committed staff, our students, and our parents and carers.”
We are looking forward to welcoming back all pupils and staff for the new school year.
WeŹ¼re raisingĀ Ā£12,000Ā toĀ buy a new motorised chair for a student in our school
We have a campaign that we have just started in school called Eās Wheels. This young person is a student in our school. He has Arthrogryposis which is characterised by multiple joint contractures of the upper and lower limbs. In essence, this causes severe restrictions to his mobility and he is fully dependent on adults for all of his needs. He is the most lovely human being ā we are so grateful and happy that he is a member of our school community.
He currently has a motorised chair which enables him to be mobile. His chair restricts him to standard surfaces. In colder weather, he is unable to travel to school if there is ice or snow on the ground and his chair does not allow him to venture anywhere āoff roadā as it were.
A second chair for him would be completely life changing. It would open up a world that is much more exciting and accessible to him.
Me (Headteacher of the school) and Mary Davidson have places in the GNR this year and will be using this as an opportunity to raise funds for this. I vowed last year that I would never do the GNR again, but this is something that I feel so passionately about ā I think it will be worth the pain!!!
